The problem

The farmer next door was convinced our 'weeds' would ruin his hay. Relations were about two weeks from a formal complaint.

What we tried

Invited him to walk the boundary, agreed a 6m pulled strip along his side only, and sent him a photo each July showing it done. Kept the rest scrubby.

Timeline

Tension gone within one season. He now lends us the topper.
